There are many churches that promote Love, Peace, and are welcoming to individuals who identify as LGBT. If church is your thing, I encourage you to find a safe space in your community to worship and feel God's love.
Whosoever: This site is based off of the scripture John 3:16-- For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
This is the first place I turned to when I began questioning my faith. It was the lifeline that I needed to keep me anchored. There are many articles that are appropriate to meet folk where they are in their spiritual walk.
Metropolitan Community Churches: They have some great resources on the bible that offer words of comfort and assurance of God's Love. I believe they even have/had brochures for sale. It is definitely a great resource.
Unity Fellowship Church: I met Bishop Tonyia Rawls at HRC's 2006 HBCU Conference. She is phenomenal!!!! A woman of GOD if I ever met one. She is the founding pastor at the church in Charlotte, NC. That's a 2 hour drive so I've only attended a few times; but it is welcoming and affirming. They got me back on the right track. I was almost atheist...nonbelieving...to make myself feel better about my sexuality. But she showed me how God can use people in the most unexpected ways.
Centers for Spiritual Living: I started attending a CSL church in 2011. It has been an interesting ride and a wonderful journey. The motto at our church is God is Love. I love it. I really do. I encourage you to find one near you. Agape streams their services online.
Have questions about any of these resources? Just ask!
