Thanksgiving Plans...

I like holidays but at the same time, I hate them. I always feel guilty for not going home to Florida to my immediate family. But when I do go home, I feel guilty for not staying at my house...with my family (girlfriend, cousin etc.).

Last year, I couldn't go home due to having to work. My aunt came here and it was really cool. I guess I am just a little homesick right now. Missing the family: granny's sweet potatoe pie, macaroni and cheese, and all of that.

  1. Sorry to hear that. Although, my mom moved closer to me, I still feel homesick. I miss my brother and kinda miss the rest of my family in DC. I haven't seen them since my mom got married back in 2006. That's a long time. I do hope you get to visit your family and have some good home cooking. Maybe I'll have the chance to see my family too, including the new arrivals.

  2. Tamara, if it makes you feel any better, I don't even know where I'll be for Thanksgiving... It sucks that every decision you make seems to be the wrong one

  3. its all what you make of it. i know thanksgiving is supposed to be a family day but you can still enjoy yourself even without being around your immediate family. Thanksgiving is giving thanks that you have family to go home to, even if you don't. My mom is deceased and I wish I had the option of visiting her! So give thanks for all that you have and the people around you. think of those deployed in wars, those who have no family or those who are in hospitals and can't physically go home...spending the day with your gf or cousin who loves you dearly is more than many people get :-) you have the day off, so no matter what you do, don't feel guilty and enjoy it!
